Delhi's Kapil bags Karua Kesari dangal title

JAMMU: Wrestler Kapil of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi clinched the 15th Annual Karua Kesari Dangal title outplaying Kaka of RS Pura in the main bout at Village Karua in tehsil and district Reasi.

Dangal was organized by Karua Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the supervision of president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and president of Karua Dangal Committee, Master Banarsi Lal.

In all, 48 bouts were decided in this day-long dangal. Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Reasi, Babu Ram, who was chief guest, contributed Rs. 11,000 to the organisers. Winner of main bout, wrestler Kapil was presented with a cash prize of Rs 6,000 while runners-up, Kaka got Rs. 5,000.

The Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Pouni Gopal Krishan Komal, SHO Reasi Jasbir Singh and general secretary Reasi District Indian Style Wrestling Association Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri) were guests of honour.

In the second main bout Paula of Himachal Pardesh defeated Dillar Khan of J&K Police while third bout went to Bobari of Sarore who defeated Bhura of Himachal Pradesh. In other bout, Sachin of Delhi defeated Munner Khan of Nagrota. Later, Sachin was adjudged as best wrestler.

Members of organizing committee and technical officials who helped in smooth conduct of this dangal included Master Bansi Lal, Ram Parkash, Sudesh Kumar, Satish Kumar, Shankeru, Rattan Lal, Sohan Lal, Anil Kumar, Deepak Kumar Master, Deepak Wazir, Murli Dhar (Munna), Romesh Bhagat, Pawan Singh and Master Ram Krishan.
