Volleyball Summer coaching camp gets underway

JAMMU: First of its kind, residential Summer Volleyball coaching camp, organised by Volleyball Association of J&K (VAJK), got underway at JK Public School campus Kunjwani, near here today.

The 21 days specialised coaching camp for young under-16 boys of the state was inaugurated by president of the Association, Sidharth Daluja amidst interaction with all 28 participants, mostly from remote corners of J&K. He wished the campers all the best and promised them a comfortable stay during the 21-day coaching session.

Earlier, the Association, through two-day selection process, short listed 28 eligible boys out of a total of 80 registered players at MA Stadium here. The camp has been sponsored by the management of JK Public School providing free boarding and lodging including all infrastructure facilities.

Among those prominent present were Director JK Public School, Brig. (Retd) Sukhdev Singh; executive vice president of the Association, HS Gill, CEO, Kuldip Magtora, general secretary, Vijay Magotra; treasurer, R C Sharma; executive member, Mohd Tariq; office secretary, Akbar Ali; Azhar Aziz Raina (coach) and other staff members of the host institution.

The coaching camp is being conducted under the supervision of International coach, Inspector Sajad Hussain and Naresh Kumar (NIS qualified in volleyball).
