DC Budgam reviews RDD works

BUDGAM: District Development Commissioner, Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad, today convened a meeting to review implementation of various schemes being executed by Rural Development Department (RDD) in the district.

Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), CPO, BDOs, Assistant Executive Engineers and other concerned attended the meeting.

The ACD informed the meeting that during current fiscal till December, 2016, against the availability of Rs 21.15 crore under MGNREGA Rs 17.75 crore were spent fully, while as Rs 10.28 crore were disbursed as wage component and 0.62 crore on semi skilled and skilled wages in the district. He further said that out of 3058 works taken up 2152 have been completed so far.

While reviewing the status of projects taken up under convergence, the District Development Commissioner directed the officers to work with added zeal so that the set targets are achieved well in time. He said schemes like MNREGA and IAY are meant to create durable assets in the far flung areas and provide livelihood to the downtrodden

The meeting also discussed threadbare the progress made under IAY shelters.
