Peer Kho Cave Temple

Location

Peer Kho Cave temple is present on the banks of river Tawi and Lord Shiva is believed to be the presiding deity of this temple.

Legend

This famous temple houses shivling which is revered by scores of devotees. This particular shivling is known as the Swayambhu Shivling and the cave adjacent to it is famously known as Jamvant cave. Basically, the legend tells that Jamvant was the "bear god" who took shelter in this cave and then went into deep meditation at this particular place so this place is considered a an important spot which gives spiritual vibes to the devotees and free them of all their worries.

The highlight of Peer Kho Cave temple is the shivling present inside it. Besides that, the temple also has a thick shrubbery and acacia trees around it which gives a pleasant surrounding for worshipping. Since, this place is properly connected to all parts of the city so devotees can actually board a public or private bus and reach this place easily and whenever they want.

Though one can visit this temple at any time of the year yet the best time to visit is from September to April. During this time, the weather is relatively better. Besides, the festive season also adds up a vibe of celebration and fills up the atmosphere with traditional gaiety.
