Appeal to take stringent actions against cops flouting traffic norms
Nov 02, 2016
It is surprising when you notice cops riding bikes without wearing helmets. Are all rules made to impose on the public only? The duty-bound fellows who are supposed to enforce traffic rules are seen violating the traffic rules in broad daylight.
If a citizen would have dared to ride a scooty without helmet, his/her vehicle must have been seized immediately and sent to the concerned authorities who might have issued the license. The driving license would have been suspended. Then, the men in blue would have issued a challan against the violator and made him to pay the fine.
Challans are issued for wrong side driving, wrong parking, triple riding, stop line violation, using a mobile while driving , signal jumping, and irregular number plates. But in this particular case, the people responsible to maintain law and order are seen flouting the norms. It is both shameful and irresponsible on their part.
As per the usual procedure, their driving licenses must also be seized and they must be punished for violating traffic rules. The cops have to follow the rules else what kind of example are they going to set up for civilians.
