DODA: The District Election Authority (DEA) Doda, under the guidance of District Election Officer, Harvinder Singh, today orchestrated a significant Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program at the serene village  Dhadkai in Gandoh Tehsil - the abode of a community with majority of its members struggling with speech and hearing impairment.

This initiative aimed to ensure that the Deaf and Dumb community, actively participate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April 19, 2024.

The event witnessed the presence of Sub Divisional Magistrate, Tehsildar, Block Development Officer and other government Functionaries.

Known as the 'silent village' of India, the enthusiasm among the Deaf and Dumb voters was palpable. Their determination to exercise democratic right through voting, despite facing communication barriers, was truly commendable.

The event reflected the District Administration's determination to ensure the inclusion of all sections of society, especially those with disabilities.

Additionally, the dedication of the Deaf and Dumb voters in Dhadkai serves as a poignant reminder of the resilience and strength inherent in the democratic process.
