UDHAMPUR: A voter awareness event was organized by District Election Authority Udhampur in collaboration with SHGs of NRLM under SVEEP, supervised by District Election Officer Udhampur, Saloni Rai, at Amritsarovar in Tikri here today.

The event saw presence of District Panchayat Officer (SVEEP Nodal Officer), Dr. Preeti Sharma, along with local residents of Lehnu village. Various traditional activities such as gittiyan and dogri songs were performed, adding cultural significance to the program.

Another SVEEP event was held at Matlowa, Chenani, where cluster coordinator, Sewna Seema Devi and Data Entry Operator, Shamsher Singh administered the pledge. More than 80 participants actively engaged in the program.

The SVEEP Nodal Officer addressed the attendees, highlighting the various reforms undertaken by administration to ensure maximum participation in elections. She emphasized the provision of home voting for senior citizens aged 85 and above, as well as for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) voters, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility in the electoral process.
