Assesses assured minimum facilities at various polling booths

BUDGAM: The District Election Officer (DEO), Budgam, Akshay Labroo today visited distribution and collection centres of Beerwah and Budgam Assembly Constituencies within the Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, 2024.

The DEO along with SSP Budgam, Al Tahir Gillani visited centres at SAM Degree College, Budgam, and Boys Higher Secondary School Magam.

On the occasion, the DEO assessed security arrangements including CCTV installation, safety measures, water, electricity supply and other required arrangements at these centres.

He called for round the clock surveillance and security of all election related material and machinery to be kept at these centres during the 5th phase of Baramulla Lok Sabha segment of elections.

The DEO also inspected the accommodation facilities for the security personnel and instructed concerned to ensure all required arrangements are placed in time at designated locations.

Speaking on the occasion, the DEO maintained that all guidelines of Election Commission of India shall be implemented in letter and spirit.

He said that these centres are being set up as separate enclosure, having separate entrance, in and out CCTV surveillance and other safety measures in place as per the SOP and protocol for these centres mandated by ECI guidelines.

The DC also took assessment of assured minimum facilities at various polling booths in Magam and Budgam areas.

Among others, ADC Budgam, Mehraj-ud-Din Shah, concerned SDM, CPO, Dy. DEO, Nodal Officers, AROs, SE R&B, ExEns of various sectors and other concerned also accompanied the DEO.
