JAMMU: NSS unit of Govt. College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu started a three day special camp from 27-29th March, 2023 based on "National Survey of Youth Not in Formal Education or Regular employment" an initiative of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav.

The camp was started under the patronage of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Sameru Sharma. In her message she told the volunteers that by this national level survey, credible data will be provided for youth centric policy making process and formulation of national youth policy by GOI.

Before the start of survey camp the volunteers were provided with required stationary items and NSS P.O briefed them about the survey which is to be conducted for the family member in the age group of 15-29 years who is neither in formal education nor in regular employment.

The volunteers along with the NSS P.O started the survey in the village Chak of block Bhalwal. They interacted with the family members of each household and gathered the required data in the provided questionnaire.

Besides taking the information about the survey, the volunteers also inform the villagers about the various schemes run by GOI.

The principal of the college appreciated the efforts of team NSS.
