JAMMU: Searches by teams of Directorate General of Goods and Service Tax Intelligence, Jammu have established huge evasion of GST by Hyderabad based construction company M/s Vensar Construction Company Ltd, which is engaged in making important tunnels on Katra Banihal Rail Link in Reasi district.

Teams conducted searches in premises of the construction company for two consecutive days after specific information about evasion of GST

According to the reports, huge evasion of GST has been detected as the company was found in procuring fake bills of Cement, Iron and Steel without receipt of any such goods to evade GST and divert money. More than 15 bogus suppliers were identified. As raids were carried out by the DGGI officers in Delhi NCR also, these suppliers were found non -existent and fake.

The bogus firms have shown transportation of Cement weighing 50 to 60 tonnes (1000 bags to 1200 bags) from Delhi to Khanikot and Dugga in cars and small vehicles.

The involvement of management of the company in the fraud is under scanner of the investigating agency and possibility of diversion of funds and money laundering is not ruled out, sources said.
