Mayor of Srinagar greets people on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW)

SRINAGAR: Junaid Azim Mattu, Mayor of Srinagar has greeted people on the eve of Eid-e Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).

In his message on the occasion, the Mayor said our beloved Prophet (SAW) taught the lessons of compassion, mercy, tolerance, peace and brotherhood to humanity and all of these teachings need to be vigorously inculcated in today's strife torn world.

He added that amongst all kinds of the great gifts bestowed upon the mankind by Almighty Allah, the birth of Prophet (SAW) was greatest and the kindest one. "Almighty Allah sent Prophet (SAW) as mercy for all the mankind (Rehmatal- lil - Aalimeen). People irrespective of any Cast, Creed, Race, Color or religion can seek guidance in his teachings as he is torchbearer for humanity and held tremendous love for mankind and compassion for poor in general and needy in particular", he added.

Mattu prayed to Almighty Allah to ignite people's hearts and minds with the love for Prophet (SAW).

On this auspicious occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, "I extend my good wishes and warm greetings to all fellow citizens, especially to my Muslim brothers and sisters", Mattu said. "On this day, I pray that your hearts and homes are filled with happiness and peace", he added further, while paying rich tributes to the last Prophet (SAW).

He urged the faithful to follow the teachings of Prophet in letter and spirit in order to attain the highest degree of human prosperity.

Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi(SAW) is a day dedicated to the Prophet Mohammad (SAW) and his teachings.

Mayor longed for the eternal peace and tranquility in the valley.
