SVEEP: Voting Awareness programs held in different schools at Kupwara

KUPWARA: To encourage citizens, especially first time voters, to exercise their right to vote, the District Administration Kupwara today organized voter awareness programmes under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative at different places in Kupwara district.

The programmes were aimed to raise awareness about various voting-related activities and promote electoral literacy among citizens, especially first-time voters to achieve good voter turnout for Kupwara district during the upcoming Lok sabha Elections.

Mega Voter Awareness programmes under the SVEEP initiative were organized at Government Higher Secondary School Kupwara, Girls Higher Secondary School Salkote, BHSS Lone Harrie, BHSS Ashpora, BHS Warpora, BHSS MH Pora, BHSS Zachaldara and High School Warnow.

The concerned Zonal Education Officers and Principals of the Institutions presided over the Voter Awareness Programmes in their concerned jurisdictions.

The awareness programmes witnessed the active participation of Teachers and students, besides officials from various departments, first time voters, community leaders, local artists and the general public also participated in these programs.

Meanwhile, different activities were carried out during the conduct of these awareness programmes which include Plantation drives, Painting competitions and Essay competitions.

Voter’s Pledge was also administered where participants pledged to vote enthusiastically in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
