NIT Srinagar condoles demise of Sr. Office Attendant, holds condolence meet

SRINAGAR: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar Friday consoled the demise of its Senior Office Attendant, Abdul Majid Dar of the Personnel Department, who left for heavenly abode on Thursday.

Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, along with the Registrar Prof. Atikur Rahman, Deans, Heads, Chairpersons of Centers, faculty members, and administrative staff, expressed their condolences on the sudden demise of Abdul Majid Dar.

Majid joined REC (Now NIT) in 1998, who served as a Senior Office Attendant in the Personnel Department.

Prior to this posting, he worked at the Institute's Mess. He passed away on Thursday evening after battling a prolonged illness.

The entire NIT Srinagar community, under the leadership of Registrar Prof. Rahman, gathered at Fountain Park for a condolence meeting, offering prayers for the departed soul.

In his condolence message, Institute's Registrar, Prof. Rahman expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Majid and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.

"He was a dedicated employee and worked professionally throughout his service here. We stand with his family at this time of sorrow and grief and will extend every possible help to them," Prof. Rahman added.

Majid was a noble soul, known for his honesty, and simplicity, and was dedicated to his job.

The NIT Srinagar community deeply appreciates his contributions.
