Reasi Campus, JU celebrates 77th Independence day

REASI: Reasi Campus, University of Jammu, has celebrated today 15th August, 2023 as 77th Independence day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.

The function was attended by all the staff members and their family members, students of the Campus and persons from the civil society.

The national flag was hoisted by the Prof. Sushil K. Pandey, Director, Reasi Campus followed by National Anthem.

At the outset, he has congratulated everyone on the 77th Independence day of India, which is celebrating during Azadi Ka Amrit Kal and part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Prof. Pandey has elaborated the significance of the independence day and commemorated the sacrifices of the great Indian freedom fighters who have sacrificed their lives for freedom of the country.

He has also spoken on key benefits of the National Education Policy (NEP-2020) which is implemented in the country including JKUT.

This is a major reform educational policy of Government of India in transforming the education sector.

At the same time he has elaborated about the progress made in the country during last 75 years as well as the sustainable development goals taken up by the government of India for next 25 years when India will celebrate 100th year of independence.

He has also highlighted the blue print for India@2047, a vision plan of the Prime Minister's office to make the country one of the world's top three economies and bring it closer to developed nation by 100th years of its Independence. Further, he revealed about the Self Reliant India Mission (Atamanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan) which encompasses themes such as "Local for Global" and "Vocal for Local" that is make in India for the world and also pointed out key objectives of the self reliant India Mission.

Subsequently, the students of the Reasi Campus have presented a cultural programme including patriotic songs and dances as well as speeches on this occasion. Prof. Pandey has complimented to all staff members and students for their active and enthusiastic participation and also thanked everyone especially to Dr. Nisha Sharma, organizer and Manoj Kumar, co-organizer for their tireless efforts in organizing the event successfully.

Others who were present on the occasion namely, Dr. Ranjeet K. Sharma, Dr. Ravi Kumar, Pankaj, Babloo Salaria and Sandeep Sharma.
