One-day workshop on legal rights of women held at Bandipora

BANDIPORA: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women Bandipora (Mission Shakti) in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora today organized a day-long workshop on Legal Rights of Women.

The workshop was sponsored by the National Commission for Women (NCW).

District Programme Officer (DPO) Bandipora, Mohd Ashraf Hakak was the chief guest on the occasion.

The event witnessed participation of a large gathering of Aaganwadi workers, female students and officials of District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Bandipora.

The DPO on the occasion stressed upon the need to safeguard the basic rights which are vital to a human life, especially to Women.

Hakak urged the stakeholders to conduct more intensified awareness regarding the legal rights of women and government schemes meant for their socio-economic empowerment.

Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Tasleema Jan spoke about Women rights and various issues faced by women in day to day life.

Rather Soliha, student from Girls Higher Secondary School Bandipora highlighted the provisions of Women Empowerment.

Bazila Manzoor, student from GHSS Bandipora also threw light on Women empowerment and rights of women.

Project coordinator Women Helpline J&K Bilal Ahmad Bhat threw light on Women Rights and issues faced by women in society. He highlighted the issue of domestic violence and other issues faced by women.
