Shri Ram School Celebrates Grandparents' Day

JAMMU: The Shri Ram Universal School, Jammu celebrated Grandparents Day on Saturday.

The occasion was graced by Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member Parliament of Lok Sabha as Chief Guest and Shilpa Dubey, Member DDC as Guest of Honour. SHO Vijaypur Rajeev also graced the occasion. Keeping in line with the school policy of "Go Green", the School Chairman Sanjeev Gupta presented the potted plants to the guests.

The event began with lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by welcome address by the Headmistress, Shivani Vaid Sharma. T

he tiny-tots of Nanhe Kadam, Pyaare Kadam, Badhte Kadam and Form 1 entertained the audience and left them spellbound with their dazzling performances when they danced to the melodious tunes. Age being no bar, the grandparents participated enthusiastically in the games like passing the parcel, musical chair, Antakshri and few Riddles organised for them.

The Principal, Col VK Sharma (Retd) in his address urged the grandparents to act as ambassadors to reinforce the bond of love which is waning due to the inclination towards adopting the trend of nuclear family and was sanguine that this bond will revive in due course of time.

The Chief Guest appreciated the efforts put in by the children and their mentors for rekindling the hopes of re-establishing the lost love. He expressed his gratitude to the grandparents who could make it to the event and express their love and affection towards their grandchildren.

The Guest of Honour congratulated teachers and Students for putting up such a grand show.

The Guests were felicitated by the Director, Rajni Gupta wherein she presented them the school memento. The celebrations ended with singing of National Anthem.
