Central Bureau of Communication organizes outreach programme at Anantnag

ANANTNAG: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India, Field Office, Anantnag today organized a Mini Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on ‘Har Ghar Tiranga' under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' at G&B Hostel Anantnag.

A day-long programme was inaugurated by Shoaib Noor, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Anantnag.

The programme was aimed to aware the tribal students about Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.

Apart from these, the students from the tribal Gujjar and Bakerwal communities were informed about different scholarship programmes and initiatives launched by the Government of India and the administration of the Union Territory of J&K for them.

On the occasion, ACR appreciated the initiative of CBC, Anantnag to organize such programmes for the students of Gujjar and Bakerwal Communities. He impressed upon the students to take full advantage of the facilities and opportunities provided to them and contribute in the development of their own communities and the nation.

He said that youth have an important role to play in achieving the goals under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Sheikh Mudasir Amin, Media and Communications Officer, Press Information Bureau, apprised the audience about the mandate of the Central Bureau of Communication and Press Information Bureau.

He presented a detailed overview of the objectives and vision behind the Har Ghar Tiranga and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav campaign.

Warden, Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel, Anantnag stressed upon the need for organizing more such awareness programmes for students and youth of underprivileged communities and asked the students to work hard to achieve their goals.

Field Publicity Officer, CBC, Field Office Anantnag, Shahid Mohammad Lone informed about various outreach activities carried out by CBC, J&K and Ladakh Region in different parts of J&K and Ladakh. He also detailed out different schemes and initiatives being run by the government for the welfare of the tribal communities especially in the education and skill development sector.

CBC, Anantnag had also installed informative standees on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Har Ghar Tiranga for the awareness of the visitors. Apart from this, printed awareness material was also distributed among the students.

A cultural programme was also presented by the private registered troupe (PRT) of CBC, J&K and Ladakh.

At the conclusion of the event, the winners of quiz and painting competitions organized as part of the pre-publicity activities were awarded prizes by the Bureau.
