Training of JU's 2nd Batch in Basic Life Support Programme Commences at Jammu Skill & Stimulation Centre

JAMMU: The second batch comprising of Programme Officers of NSS, NSS volunteers and the staff of the University today left for Nagotra to undergo training in Basic Life Support Programme at Jammu Skill & Stimulation Centre.

It is pertinent to mention here that the idea behind the whole programme is to train the faculty, Officers, non-teaching staff, scholars and students in a phased manner to help them to deal with emergency situations in saving precious lives due to sudden collapses like Brain Stroke/ Epilepsy/BP shoot choking/snake & insect bite etc.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Salim ul Rehman, Director Health Services, Jammu expressed satisfaction with the way the programme is undergoing and further said that the University of Jammu is the first University in the Country under the leadership of Prof Umesh Rai, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu which has taken a lead to get their staff trained in Basic Life Support Programme.

It is noteworthy to mention here that after completion of this training program these trained participants will impart training to other people in the University under the supervision of the staff of the Regional Institute of Health and Family Welfare on the main campus of the University of Jammu.

The training program is being organised under the supervision of Dr. Manoj Bhagat, Principal, Regional Institute of Health and Family Welfare and Jammu Skill & Stimulation Centre, Nagrota and Dr. Anu Manhas, Medical Consultant and Master trainer shall impart the training to the participants

Earlier, Dr Imran Farooq, Nodal Officer for Amrit Kaal while speaking on the occasion thanked the Director, Heath Services for taking a keen interest in ensuring that not only the best trainers are being made available and employees of the University are provided excess to the state of the art equipment.

Among others, Programme Officers Dr Savita Nayyar, Dr Neelam Chaudhary, Staff of Health service J&K Govt. Jammu were also present on the occasion.
