NCC Cadets of GCW Udhampur distribute National flag among households

UDHAMPUR: The First J&K Girls Battalion NCC Srinagar, Government College for Women, Udhampur other day conducted door to door distribution of National flags to promote Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to mark the celebration of Independence week under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

This NCC unit of the college hosted a series of programmes starting from August 11th to invoke the spirit of nationalism among the people and pay respect to the national flag.

On the third day of the Independence week, NCC cadets presented national tricolour to every home and cadets urged the people to hoist the national flag atop their houses. They also helped the households to hoist the flag on top of their house. More than 30 cadets participated in this awareness drive with great enthusiasm.

The Principal of the college, Dr. Monika Sharma appreciated the cadets for paying a tribute to the Indian national flag by distributing it to different houses and communities. She also encouraged the cadets to participate in the celebration of 75 years of India's Independence more enthusiastically.

The event was coordinated by ANO Prof Shallu Jasrotia. Prof Yash Kumar and Arti Gupta from the department of music also accompanied the Cadets in this drive.
