GDC Pouni holds series of events to celebrate International Youth day

REASI: Government Degree College Pouni under the Aegis of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav on Friday celebrated International Youth Day 2022 under the guidance of the College Principal, Prof. Rajni Bhagat.

The main objective of the event was to spread the message that action is required across all generations to attain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

The Programme was organised by Tanpreet Singh, Prof. Jaspal Singh and Prof. U S Liza, who encouraged youth to organize activities to spread awareness about the issues of youth in the country.

A series of events were organised to mark the International Youth Day, including Poster-making, Extempore speeches and Short-Story telling Competition.

The College witnessed overwhelming participation from all the semesters.

Gurleen Kour and Balvinder Singh very well narrated the short story on the topic "Ageism". They very beautifully put forth the main points by telling the short tale.

The Principal maintained that it was not enough to listen to young people but they need to be integrated into decision-making mechanisms at the local, national and international levels. She stressed on joining hands across generations to break down barriers and work as one to achieve a more equitable, just and inclusive world for all people.

Event was held smoothly by the collective efforts of Dr. Varsha Kapoor, Prof. Balbir Kumar and Dr. Tarseem Kumar.
