International Day of persons with disabilities observed in District Doda

DC distributes 1 Motorized Tricycle, 3 Wheelchairs, 8 hearing aids to PwDs

DODA: As part of the Sheri Jan Abhiyaan under My Town My Pride, District Social Welfare Office Doda organised a programme to mark International Day of Persons with disabilities.

On the occasion, 1 motorised tricycle, 3 Wheelchairs and 8 hearing aids were distributed among specially-abled persons by District Development Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan.

The DDC was accompanied by District Social Welfare Officers, Tariq Qazi and other concerned officials of the Social Welfare department.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that the provision of providing supportive aids by the government aims to empower the specially-abled. He also asked the specially abled to treat themselves at par with others and avail benefits entitled under various self-employment schemes of Central and J&K Government for their livelihood.
