Seminar on ‘Gandhiji, Non-violence & Indian Freedom Movement' organized at GDC Khansahib

BUDGAM: The Department of Political Science, Government Degree College (GDC) Khansahib Saturday organized a one day seminar on ‘Gandhiji, Non-violence and Indian Freedom Movement', here.

Principal of the institution, Dr. Nargis Bano inaugurated the event and highlighted the role of Gandhiji in mass awakening and mobilisation against the British Raj. She laid emphasis on imbibing the virtues of Gandhism in achieving our individual and collective goals.

Thereafter, an elaborate presentation was delivered by Dr. Sajad Padder, Assistant Professor of Political Science at the institution. He spoke on different non-violent methods adopted by Gandhiji against the Britishers particularly in Champaran Satyagraha and Non-Cooperation Movement.

Four college students Samreena Khanam, Sana Kousar, Umhani Rashid and Abid Bhat also spoke on different aspects of Gandhian life.

The seminar ended with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Mohd Mohsin. He appreciated college Principal for her support and cooperation; keynote speaker, student speakers and other participants for making the programme a success.
