JUVC Releases Admission Brochure of IMFA

JAMMU: Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu University, today released the admission brochure of the Institute of Music & Fine Arts (IMFA), University of Jammu.
While speaking on the occasion Vice Chancellor congratulated the students & faculty members of IMFA for bringing out a well-designed & informative admission brochure for the year 2022-23.
Prof. Umesh Rai said that art & culture has been given special attention in New Education Policy 2020.
Therefore, it is the duty of the University to promote cultural & literary activities besides an appropriate propagation of the creative works of students & faculty members should be done so that students can also get some monetary benefit.
It is the duty of the University to promote skill development courses & Institute of Music & Fine Arts would play a vital role in this regard.
The Vice-Chancellor directed the Principal, IMFA to organize a national-level exhibition of IMFA works in Sculpture & Painting, where prominent artists of the country are invited.
These types of exhibitions will enhance the projection of the University at the national and international arena.
The Vice-Chancellor further said that IMFA will be given proper attention by the University Authorities for promoting art & culture.
He also assured that he would take the matter of land with the Hon'ble Chancellor at an opportune time.
As soon as the matter is resolved, the new construction work would be started on IMFA premises.
He also assured that the vacant positions of IMFA would be also filled as soon as possible.
Earlier, Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik, Principal IMFA briefed the Vice Chancellor about the courses & artistic works done by IMFA.
He informed the Vice Chancellor that IMFA is a premier Institute in the Jammu province, which is offering professional courses to the students of remote areas of J&K.
The admission brochure has ably been designed by Sh. Rakesh Sharma, HOD Applied Art. It contains information regarding courses & syllabi of all the courses, which have been drafted according to New Education Policy 2020.
Among others Dr Priya Dutta, HOD Kathak Dance Department, Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Special Secretary to Vice-Chancellor, Rakesh Sharma, HOD Applied Art & Jabeen Mughal, a research Scholar were also present on the occasion.
