Modi impresses Jammu audience with Dogri language

JAMMU: After wrapping up his Srinagar and Ladakh visits, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his arrival in Jammu on Saturday evening to inaugurate Tarakote Marg and lay foundation of Dul Hydro Electricity Project and Jammu Ring Road, impressed the audience with local Dogri language in his address. "Mandierin de shehar, Jammu vich tusein sarein gi mera irakh te bara bara namaskar," (In the City of Temples, Jammu, I greet you all with love and affection), said the Prime Minister in his inaugural speech at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium here at University of Jammu.

He said, "Tus saare Jammu aale bade kismet aaley oh kyunki tus ma Vaishno Devi De charnein vich roude ho," (you people of Jammu are very lucky because you live in the foothills of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi.)

The Prime Minister however, was applauded by the audience for making his address in the local language and ending it by saying, "Miki yakeen aai ke mata rani miki jaldi partiye bulag. Tunda mata mata dhanwaad," (I am sure that Mata Vaishno Devi will again invite me to Jammu and I thank you all).
