Delhi, Punjab NZ qualifiers for Santosh Trophy

KATRA: Delhi and Punjab today declared two qualifying teams from the North Zone for the 73rd Senior National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy held at SMVDSB Sports Stadium, here under the banner of J&K Football Association (JKFA).

While Delhi was already were already there in the qualifiers list after the team topped their group yesterday, Punjab got the ticket for the next round of the National event beating Uttar Pradesh by a solitary goal.

The only goal for Punjab came through Sukhpreet, who successfully converted a penalty into the net.

In the meantime, Himachal Pradesh blanked Haryana beating latter 4-0 in another scheduled match of Group-B. Bhemant, Nikhil, Mohit and Mukesh were the scorers.
However, the closing of the event remained a low key affair with none of the top office bearers of the JKFA were present.

This event was organized by JKFA under the aegis of AlFF in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council (JKSSC) and SMVDSB as also the J&K Bank Ltd.
